MINEFIELD

2 - 11 Nov 2017

I can tell you the story again of the wounded Argentinian soldier who died in my arms. But it won't necessarily make me cry now. Sometimes it can feel raw again. But I keep it under control and tell it like a story.

Lou Armour.

Have You Ever Been To War?

Six Veterans of the Falkland War who once faced each other on the battlefield now face each other on stage in this piece of documentary theatre directed by Lola Arias; Minefield. Following its hugely successful 2016 run at The Royal Court Theatre, which was a huge sell-out, Minefield toured internationally and is now returning to The Royal Court Theatre for just ten-performances this Autumn.

Join these men as they relive their journey's, each having their own story to tell from the English to the Argentinian men; uniting on one stage and allowing us to revisit the last 'old-fashioned' trench war.

Have you ever killed a man? Have you ever seen someone commit suicide? Have you seen a man on fire?... The questions these veterans get asked on a regular basis. The six veterans, who are now in their 50s, get a glimpse of their younger selves with magazine articles and uniforms, seeing their late teen years and how they got taken away from them due to political figures. Reliving moments of great pain and emotion with facts that no history book can tell, only the men themselves.
