A damning indictment of DWP's Fit To Work scheme, Katherine Soper's debut, Bruntwood Prize-winning play paints a desperate struggle for two adult siblings to survive below the poverty line. Tamsin works on a zero-hour contract packing merchandising for an unnamed online retailer; her brother Matt is stuck at home battling severe mental illness - obsessive compulsive disorder. However when his benefits are stopped by faceless beurocrats and he is declared fit to work, Tamsin becomes embroiled in a battle of wills against the authorities to get the support they very desperately need.
Written by Soper as part of her final dissertation, this critically acclaimed play won her a residency at Manchester's prestigious Royal Exchange Theatre, who also produces it. Directed by Matthew Xia.
