The hit new play by Fishamble

A stunning new work by award-winning Dublin-based theatre company Fishamble, Pat Kinevane's third solo play sees its UK premiere this autumn at London's Soho Theatre. Helmed by Jim Culleton, Underneath examines the age-old adage that beauty is only skin deep. Set in a darkened tomb, we hear the tragic story of a woman, newly dead who was ostracised throughout her life for her appearance, only to gain brief acceptance before being brutally murdered. Grim? yes it is. But also an inspiring challenge for audiences to live their lives to the full, despite what may lie around the corner.

This black comedy tells us a rich, varied tale of somebody living under the radar, hidden away from the rest of society for fear of people's judgement. Underneath asks us to consider those living around us under the radar, forgotten and ostracised. But at the same time it asks us to live our lives without fear, because we never know what lies around the corner for us.
