This Christmas, London's Criterion Theatre will turn into an ice-encrusted winter wonderland with the arrival of a brand-new family musical, based on the novel by Richard and Florence Atwater, and the movie starring Jim Carrey! Mr Popper's Penguins will play the holiday season following its inaugural UK tour and its New York premiere. Aimed at young children, this is an exciting way to ring in the festive cheer, joined no less by a bunch of boisterous black and white birds!
Directed by Emma Earle, our story takes place in the small American town of Stillwater, where our heroes Mr. and Mrs. Popper are normal, kind and practical people. However, their simple, quiet life is turned upside down when a package arrives on their doorstep containing a real, live penguin! Trying to help the wee birdie fit into their ordered lives, they soon turn their house into an ice palace, and welcome more penguins into their lives! With catchy original songs and the penguins provided by astounding puppetry, this is a family show to warm the cockles of your hearts!
