The Woman in Black Reviews

USE YOUR IMAGINATION
Clearly the people who said it was not good have no imagination! My first thought was how brilliant it is despite the fact that there are not a load of props and set changes.

SCARE-TASTIC
Going to see "The Woman in Black" with my 'As' Level Drama/Theatre Studies group was a scare-tastic experience. Act One had the audience preparing for the thrills and chills for Act Two. After Act One, we all secretly hoped that we would have been that little bit more scared and there were only a few occasions we had jumped/gasped, but come Act Two...let's just say we left the theatre quite shaken. The acting was very good and the actors had given a very inspirational performance... I never wish to see a rocking chair again, nor listen to a music box or whistle... Beware of THE WOMAN IN BLACK!

SO SCARY
Scariest thing i've ever seen firstly it's worst than the cinema cause it's right in front of you, making it even more scarier is being in the front row. Because some things happen to make you jump in the first row! Thw only reason i gave this a 4.5 is because it was so scary!

GREAT AFTERNOON
Thr show was really rather good! Well played, well staged and well done to the cast and crew. Highly recommended.

GOOD ACTING BUT HARD WORK TO SIT THROUGH THIS PRODUCTION
Having seen the production of Woman in Black years ago I decided my 14 year old son was old enough to go and took him and his friend. I hadn’t expected it to be such a low-key production and we all found it hard work to sit through with 2 actors and a handful of props and minimalist staging. The language was tricky but they have seen Christmas Carol and enjoyed it with a good entertaining production. The theatre was cramped, hot and extremely uncomfortable … we couldn’t see the front of stage from only row D of the dress circle. I would recommend if you are serious about theatre as the actors were very good ….but not for entertainment.

DISAPPOINTINGLY NOT SCARY
I booked these tickets as the play was supposed to be really scary. I went with four other people and we all agreed it wasn't that scary at all. Not once did we jump or gasp, laugh might be a better way of how we felt about the play.

NOT SCARY ENOUGH!
Having seen the film and the tv series, I was desperate to see the stage show. The seats and the view were first- rate but I found the play very unscary! However, my 18 year old daughter was terrified and couldn't sleep that night!
