DON’T BOTHER

I’ve seen the production of the Lion King before which was absolutely amazing and we were really looking forward to seeing it again….unfortunately, the excitement stopped after the first scene and I was bitterly disappointed. It seemed very panto, the added jokes were cringey and out of place. The story lost its way, if you hadn’t seen the movie you’d have no idea what was going on. Lots of filler scenes which were pointless, main great songs from the film were missed out and replaced with new songs which nobody knew and were weird and boring. At one point even the boy behind me asked his mum ‘what’s going on’ and I felt the same, throughout you could hear several people snoring…I wish I could have slept through it. £150 for two tickets , what a waste of money.

DON'T BOTHER - NOT WORTH THE RIDICULOUS PRICE I PAID.

We attended the show yesterday, after paying £400 for two tickets. I am deaf and hearing aid user so my partner wanted to make sure we were as close as possible (still row H so not under the stage). The audio was terrible. Nothing like what you see in the trailer (which is dated years ago anyway). I couldn't hear half the conversations. The artists seemed tired, out of sync and out of tune too. Pieces of the costumes fell apart mid-act. As the cherry on the cake, we were sitting in the proximity of a young guy that was clearly feeling sick throughout the whole act. We make our way out during the interval and I had to see this young guy vomit at least 5 times right by the theatre stairs. No one came to clean or to let them know it was better if they didn't go back in. The idea of having to share such a small space with someone that is clearly sick made me feel sick and anxious. We left before the second act started and I never did it before in my entire life. I am so disappointed.

What we thought

epic Wonderful MAGICAL

Bringing such an epic landscape to life on the stage is quite a feat of creative skill that has yet to be matched anywhere else on stage.
