"Those of us who have seen "Nozze" many times know all the comic situations, yet it still amazes me how funny and how fresh this opera can be."
Opera War Horse
Known as Mozart's wittiest opera, Le nozze di Figaro reunites us with Count and Countess Almivira, who's respective servants are soon to be married. Only Count Almivra is already bored with his new wife, after wooing her in the Barber of Seville, and decides it's time to try his luck with Figaro's betrothed. A mad-cap adventure with more plot twists and turns than Downton Abbey soon follows as the the servants must find some way to outwit their masters!
This classic David McVicar production has the wine flowing with a lively and talented cast navigating this work of comic genius. With Erwin Schott as the hapless and long-suffering Fiagaro and Antia Hartig as Susanna, there is a bubbling amount of talent to present this saucy, silly and cherished tale in a fine and unforgettable manner!
