This powerhouse revival stuns the critics

Lesley Manville and Jeremy Irons are 'magnificent'

Director Richard Eyre adds another certified hit to his CV with his stunning revival of Eugene O'Neil's Pulitzer Prize-winning classic. Most of the critics went for the full five stars citing Manville and Iron's performances as Mary and James as major draws. The Standard called Oscar Nominee Manville's turn as morphine-addicted Mary 'finely detailed and compassionate', whilst What'sOnStage stated 'This is a performance of detailed genius and for all the excellence surrounding her, she makes it her play.'

Considering Long Day's reputation for being the saddest play in the repertoire, Mr. Eyre et al seem to have brightened up many of the critics. A sure must see and heavy awards contender!
