Joe Sugg To Make West End Debut In Waitress

The YouTube star is joining the diner!

YouTube sensation, and stand-out star of last year's Strictly Come Dancing, Joe Sugg, is making his West End debut this September as he joins the cast of Waitress. Sugg will be taking on the role of Ogie, currently played by former Inbetweeners star Blake Harrison, from the 9th of September.

Sugg will be joining a cast made up of Lucie Jones as Jenna, Marisha Wallace as Becky, Laura Baldwin as Dawn, Peter Hannah as Earl and David Hunter as Dr Pomatter.

Upon landing the role Sugg said "I got to see the show a couple of months back and it's absolutely fantastic. I'm excited to be a part of the cast and to have landed a role in the West End really has topped off an incredible year for me."

What is Waitress about?

Suffocated by both the small Southern town where she lives, and her controlling husband Earl, Jenna longs for escape. Her only solace comes from working in the local diner, where she can practice her passion for baking. Jenna's crumbly pastries and crinkly crusts are renowned the town over, and by a stroke of luck, they might just offer her an escape route! A pie-baking contest is announced in a nearby town, with a potentially life-changing cash prize for first place. Jenna realises this may be a once in a lifetime opportunity and is determined to grab it with both hands!

Waitress is currently playing at the Adelphi Theatre.
