Tony Award nominee and star of both screen and stage, Vanessa Williams, is no stranger to fabulous roles involving fashion and magazine management. As of October 2024, she will be stepping into the high-heeled shoes of the ruthless editor-in-chief Miranda Priestley in the highly-anticipated The Devil Wears Prada musical at London's Dominion Theatre. Williams gained widespread recognition for her role as Wilhelmina Slater, the egocentric former editor-in-chief, in the beloved comedy series Ugly Betty. Her portrayal earned her three consecutive Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress.
Her most recent appearance on the West End stage was in the acclaimed Donmar Warehouse production of City of Angels. On Broadway, Williams originated the character of Margaret in POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive. Her portrayal of the Witch in the 2002 Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Into the Woods earned her a Tony Award nomination.

The musical adaptation of The Devil Wears Prada has an original score crafted by music icon Sir Elton John, with lyrics by Shaina Taub. The book is by Kate Wetherhead, while the direction and choreography are helmed by three-time Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell, known for his work on productions such as Kinky Boots, Legally Blonde, Pretty Woman, and Hairspray.
