A Misunderstood Webber Masterpiece

5/5

25th August 2011

Having rushed to see this production in its final days, it is incredibly sad to see a truly remarkable fresh and vibrant production sink under the pressure of its predecessor. Let's be honest, it was never going to excel The Phantom of the Opera, a comparison that blinds its critics and die-hard fans alike to all that is in fact good. Admittedly the alterations to the musical from the original score have made the score far more powerful and the music far more memorable, which was a significant complaint in its infancy, but all in all the production stands tall as one of the best on the West End circuit. This finale cast are all absolutely outstanding and at the final curtain it was clear that their performance had truly touched the all-standing audience. It is a tragedy that this show could not continue to receive the acclaim I believe it truly deserves. See it while you still can and see for yourselves how Mr Webber has come up with yet another musical masterpiece!

Fabulous score, singing and acting; and amazing staging. The chemistry between the Phantom and Christine is superb, and Gustave is excellent. I absolutely loved it.

I saw love never dies in february and i was very surprised by the show, although i thing it s the best for following after the phantom, the story went on and for me Andrew made it real y wonderful and great! The music was perfect, also al. the cast was wonderful Yes, this was a sad story for all the admirers of the phantom. I know it os not a happy story, but the caracters were developed and 10years after the story of the phantom. Christine and Rapulplayed there part excellent and also the fighting and struggling from Raoul and the phantom was very impressive! Also Meg amd her daughter! Mahler and pucini could have written it! My very compliments to ALW! Hope to see Stephen Ward soon in Londen...
