BRILLIANT SHOW THAT HAD US IN FITS OF LAUGHTER

We saw this on a Sunday afternoon and it made our weekend. As with the play that goes wrong, cast members set things up by going out into the audience ahead of the show, in this case looking for a lost dove. One child was having lots of fun going round with a net on a stick cooing to try to get the lost bird to come to him. The show has lots of variety and some really good magic effects. Best of all, the audience had a great time which makes the whole experience amazing and the show one to remember. We hope to get the chance to see it again.

SOME MAGIC GOES WRONG, BUT ALL THE COMEDY GOES RIGHT

Great show - extremely funny, as you’d expect from Mischief Theatre, and with added magic & genuine illusions (not all the tricks go wrong!) Seen it twice now & thoroughly enjoyed it both times. Highly recommended.

AB FAB

Laughed from the start to the finish. Professional & well rehearsed. Honestly. Would watch it again. Well done guys 👍

GREAT NIGHT OUT

Absolutely fab. Great show with lots of laughs and magic going right and wrong. The Mind Mangler was brilliant and managed the audience to get maximum laughs. I got to take part too so very happy. Loved it

EXCELLENT

Can only think for the bad reviews that they’re reviewing a different show! Loved every second of it, hilarious and clever with lots of tricks up their sleeves. Go see, you won’t be disappointed!

MUCH FUN AND LAUGHTER

An enjoyable, laughter filled afternoon from start to finish watching Magic goes wrong. Each character reeled you in to test all emotions. Enjoyed so much want to see again.

LOTS OF LAUGHS - AND SOME REAL MAGIC

We loved last night's performance - in a packed Vaudeville Theatre. The second half was stronger than the first, but nevertheless it started with a delightful trick and finished with a brilliant piece of misdirection that had the people around us jumping out of their seats. Henry Lewis is the standout performer as the Mind Mangler. It didn't matter if he could do magic or not - but it turned out in the end that he could. Highly recommended as a way of beating the January blues ... if you can get a seat.

MAGICAL PERFORMANCE,COMEDY FOR ALL AGES LOTS OF LAUGHTER.

Went with family to see show plenty of laughs and magic that certainly kept us entertained throughout performance, will definitely be recommending to others.

SOMETHING'S GONE WRONG

Apart from Henry Lewis making us laugh out loud and drawing in the audience, this is a disappointment. Poor characters, unnecessary plot complications and a weak 'lead' magician. Feels amateur, which is such a shame as we are huge fans of the Goes Wrong Show.

WE LEFT 1/2 WAY

A few funny tricks but overall just cringe and unfunny. We left at the intermission

MAGIC GOES WRONG REVIEW - VAUDEVILLE

Mischief’ weakest effort thus far...hit and miss, no belly laughs. Very much a work in progress....

2.0 star rating from Portsmouth, England

DISAPPOINTING

Having seen the previous two mischief plays, I was really looking forward to this. But what a disappointment! A very amateur performance and except for a couple of laughs at the mind mangler and autoprompter, nothing funny at all. Definitely not up to the standard of the play that goes wrong..don’t waste your money!

2.0 star rating John from London, England

BORING

Just boring. Mind mangler vaguely funny. The rest of it was juvenile obvious humor that just feel flat. Cringe.

HATED IT

After loving the other goes wrong plays I was looking forward to this but both myself and my husband hated this the humour was so forced not at all funny I think I smiled once it’s all rather lame I think they should stop now

WHY SO LONG?

Very disappointing. Have seen all the previous plays in the goes wrong franchise but this was far too long, not very funny and without a solid plot or comic timing that is expected.

MAGIC WENT WRONG

Very disappointing even for MISCHIEF Theatre enthusiasts. Weak central theme, genuinely amateurish Very slow, contrived and not at all amusing. The format has run out of steam here. ... Maybe the collaboration is the problem.

MAGIC GOES WRONG - AWFUL

What a patronising and corny load of rubbish. We were squashed into tiny seats in the misnamed Grand Circle. I've no idea what Penn and Teller contributed to this - possibly just getting their famous mates to do 'live' video links that were just as awful as all the rest of this drivel. Felt like watching a school production.

TERRIBLE SHOW MAGIC GOES WRONG

This was so disappointing to watch. Have seen the previous two shows and they were good. Would not recommend

OH DEAR

Just awful. Nothing else to say

EXCRUCIATINGLY AWFUL

Can only concur with other reviewers opinions - if I could, would demand a refund of the ticket price of £13!!! Left at the interval as couldn't bear another half and went home to do some gardening.....

WISH I HAD STAYED AT HOME

I have been a great fan of the Mischief Theatre but this is a show that is neither clever or really very funny (bar very few laughs with the errant teleprompt). I really wanted to like this show but it was far too long and repetitive. Some parts are not suitable for younger children. At the end when there was a huge pause some audience left, it was hard to tell if the delay was intended or whether something really had gone wrong. Very disappointing.

1.0 star rating Susie from London, England

DISAPPOINTING

Not suitable for a young audience. Male nudity, swearing, crude language, odd racial stereotypes, lots of violence. Uncomfortable to watch.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!!!!!!

After watching The Play That Goes Wrong I was so looking forward to this show. It was BEYOND dreadful!!!!!!!! I would say its suitable for primary school kids but even then any child over the age of 7 won’t find it remotely funny. Paid a lot of our tickets and walked out at the interval, the first time I’ve ever done that. Even getting to the interval was painful!! Hate writing bad reviews but I truly can’t wrap my head around how they think that show is stage worthy..! Totally baffled and urge you to save your money.

RUBBISH

What a disappointment and a waste of money and time. It was like a load of amateurs in a village performance . Couldn’t wait to get home.

1.0 star rating Marrie from Aylesbury, England

MAGIC SHOW GOES WRONGEST NOT WRONG

A total waste of my time and money!! Absolutely no planning went into this show. The actors and their humor were laid to rest so many times during the show. Nobody laughed!

1.0 star rating Jon from On holiday in York, England

MAGIC GOES WRONG, HUMOR TOTALLY ABSENT !

What a disappointment, saw queues outside theatre and thought that must be good, all i can say is the best thing was the White Chocolate Blondie cake i had luckily bought, ate that, watched out the poor 1st half performance then left, the first time ever we have walked out of a performance, I can't believe Penn & Teller put their name to that performance without seeing it first, we found it hard to work out what audience it was aimed at.

WORST MISCHIEF SHOW EVER

I have seen ‘The Play That Goes wrong ‘ 4 times and loved it, I’ve seen ‘Christmas Carol Goes Wrong’ ‘Peter Pan Goes Wrong’ all of them absolutely brilliant however, this was horrendous, without wit, it was not funny, I could have written better myself( and I cannot write) so disappointed and felt very cheated. Not one of the ‘original’ cast made an appearance as I was expecting, we left half way through.
