BRILLIANT - A MUST SEE!

Wow! Helen Mirren is amazing as the Queen in The Audience. Entertaining, witty - buy tickets while you can

DIFFICULT CHOICE

Fabulous characterisation in an intelligent production. Acting is wonderful and the set is fantastic. We wouldn't like to be on the panel selecting best supporting actor/actress at next year's theatre awards: too much choice here.

A GREAT NIGHT OUT!

Was lucky enough to see the show last night with my teenage son - absolutely fantastic! Great to see the lovely Helen Mirren, whose performance was truly amazing. Drove past Buckingham Palace on the way home and expected to see her at the window..

TOTALLY SPELL BINDING WITTY WITH AN EDGE

Well what a performance I had read the reviews and thought it would be good-good just doesn't do it justice!! Mirren is as always totally gifted and plays to the audience brilliantly. The strong storey line and the way it moves with such fluidity from one to the next is unsurpassed!! The casting is excellent all the characters are totally believable and play their roles so well. I would highly recommend it and its such a shame its on such a limited run I could go back over and over again! If you only see one show this year see this one.

AN UNUSUAL AND IMAGINATIVE TRIP THROUGH HISTORY

A friend and I were delighted to obtain two 'restricted view' seats after the show was officially sold out. How lucky we were. The historical references, witty reposts, and the excellent characterisations were brilliant. The seats were fine as the dialogue was so interesting and the action was mostly centre stage. The 'Queen's' outfits reflected the age of the monarch and were of the period. Fantastic! Brilliant! as the audience standing ovation at the conclusion showed. Thank you everyone involved.

JUST BRILLIANT

Hooked from the start. brilliant is the only word to describe this. Helen Mirren was amazing. if you miss it or couldnt get a ticket try to catch it in the cinema ..... you wont be disappointed

2.5 star rating Rosalind Clayton from London,

ONLY FOR NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKERS!

Enjoyable evening, but really a vehicle for Helen Mirren. Don't even consider it if you are not a native English speaker or really bi-lingual. Cannot imagine what the large Japanese party made of it. Not great literature - it won't appear on any A level syllabus. Will probably sink without trace after the run. Very slick production with excellent stage management, but far too many "in" jokes. Wilson very good. Churchill poor; Robert Hardy totally wrong. Thatcher not good, apart from last few seconds where SHE terminated the audience not Her Maj. In all, a good evening, but would not want to see it again. Surprisingly good view from back of stalls. Good acoustics.
