The Wizard of Oz Reviews

THE WIZARD OF OZ IN LONDON PALLADIUM
Very very disappointed in the show. No special effects very basic . I seen the Andrew Lloyd webber one 10 years ago which was amazing so don't go back to see this one as not even on the same level. Overall extremely disappointed

OFF TO SEE THE WIZARD? DON’T BOTHER
Where to start. Appaling sound design, Manford (poorly) mimicking Lahr with zero originality, bringing nothing to the role, Banjo’s tone deaf ‘singing’. And then there’s the worst audience behaviour ever experienced- and it’s not the kids who are the problem here. We escaped barely intact at the interval. Theatre in autopilot. Grim ⭐️

VERY DISAPPOINTED
We came to see this show back in 2012 and was excited that Andrew Lloyd Webber had brought it back again. We looked forward to seeing this for so long and even though we had read some poor reviews we gave it the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately Andrew Lloyd Webber trying to reinvent classic musicals and shows just does not work. Was disappointed from start to finish and only stayed in the hope it would improve. Will not be rebooking and will not recommend to anyone

SUCH A BAD MUSICAL
Waste of money and waste of time. I wish i read the reviews before going. I agree with all the negetive reviews that are witten here. I cant belive this is a london westend musical. Paid 45 pound per ticket. Wouldn't go for free. I

WORST SHOW EVER!
We saw The Wizard of Oz a few years ago at the London Palladium and it was an amazing show, hence the reason we decided to go again. What a huge mistake!! It is the WORST show ever. Dorothy had an expressionless face the whole time ,as if she was just trying to get through her shift then go home! Glinda the Good Witch does NOT come out on a Barbie moped! Having a puppet dog was ridiculous! Ashley Banjo could not act or sing, I felt embarrassed for him trying to hit the notes, and what was that ridiculous idea for the yellow brick road - neon signs with ushers/usherettes eating popcorn on them? Do not go to this show. You are wasting your money. We came out at the interval and didn't go back in. We would have come out sooner if it didn't mean disturbing the people around us!!
Shannon from Edinburgh,
I COULD NOT BELIEVE WHAT I WAS WATCHING!
I do not even know where to start, the only thing that was enjoyable in this was The Lion, The Scarecrow and The Choreography! We left at the interval. It was a complete waste of money, whoever chose the cast members obviously did not care. The set was cheap, it's what you would expect at a budget pantomime Not Edinburgh Playhouse. Huge disappointment. I couldn't stop laughing but in disbelief at Toto! A Puppet and a puppeteer! I really did feel sorry for that poor person's back. I seen Wicked the month before and it was fantastic!!! The Munchkins in Wicked should have been cast in The Wizard Of Oz! Do not waste your money because you will be disappointed.
Wendy from Edinburgh,
DON’T WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY
I was so looking forward to this show and so disappointed 😞 I’m 58 years old and watched this film with my mother since I was 5 years old. Production team trying to make it a modern film with scenes of America as back drops. Why not the emerald city, yellow brick road? Characters not true to life. We didn’t go back for the second half but went to bar for a drink only to be told to speak a bit quieter as a mum and young son were watching the show on a tv screen!! Really!!?? So can’t have a normal conversation in a public bar!!?? (Playhouse Edinburgh) open another area for people that want quiet to watch the show on a tv screen!! So disappointing.
