DISAPPOINTING BUT WITH SOME JOYFUL ELEMENTS

Perhaps my expectations were too high, I have fond memories of MB’s nutcracker and swan lake. This show could lose the first half entirely and you would be no worse off. There is very little to it, the dancing is surprisingly absent, with an ensemble cast shuffling around endlessly and meaninglessly. The main characters are poorly developed and you feel nothing for any of them come the first curtain only dread for the second half. I think we got stand in Edward and stand in object of affection and it showed, their dancing was so so lacklustre. One scene where Edward is apparently sculpting behind a plume of shaved ice, had the lead actor standing there almost motionless with his hands held weakly aloft. Frankly bizarre. That’s our theatre trip to London done for the year, £300 for tickets and train. I’ll need to be more careful next time.

DISAPPOINTING

Lacklustre. Disjointed. Poor storyline. Lots of cartoon couples doing meaningless jigs - on stage - distracting - difficult to focus on any of them - and their antics didn’t add anything to the story. Main protagonist severely hampered by his Scissorhands - it certainly affected his ability to dance.

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT

First off I absolutely love the theatre and enjoy all types of performances, but to turn Edward scissor hands into a ballet and not explain it on the synopsis have the show without a single word or song is a joke. There was nothing to capture you, no character development or emotional stimulation, at times you just watched people twerking on the stage. What an absolute waste of time and money.
