GREAT SHOW

Took my partner to see this as a birthday treat and we were not disapointed. The show and the music were excellent. Lee was great and the rest of the cast were wonderful too, particularly the narrator Preetya Kalidas. Unfortunately we did not get a good view of the finale as the two girls in front of us would not sit down and we could not see the stage. ( They were the only ones standing by then). Never the less it was a great evening.

GO GO GO LEE

We saw Joseph the first week it opened and the atmosphere in the theatre was electric. The show is basically the same production that ran at the London Palladium a few years back but it feels right up to date and Lee's arrival on stage brought the house. A tremendous night out but be ready to have the tunes banging around in your head for days afterwards!

LEE MEAD - SUPERSTAR!

We voted for Lee in Any Dream Will Do and he didn't let us down. He was brilliant on stage and the show was amazing. Close Every Door was very moving and Lee gets it just right. He does look like a young Kevin Keegan in his loin cloth - but we can forgive him anything! The children (12 & 10) loved it and want to see it again.

LEE MEAD AND JOSEPH

went to see the show 19 days ago to be precise!. What a wonderful production and Lee was superb in it it was as if the role had been created for him.It is a must for theatre lovers, it is so uplifting that I am still on cloud nine after all this time. Cannot wait to return to see it all again. Thank you once again for a terrific show.

THE FANATASTIC LEE MEAD!XX

We saw the show last night (16/8/07). It was so surreal, its like we were in a dream, the whole experience of the show was amazing. My 7 yr old boy did not move a muscle throughout the whole show and his first words in the morning were"Mummy Joseph was amazing". As for Lee, he is truly magnificent and absolutely made the show. He sings with such passion and his voice sent goose bumps all over my body. When he first apperas from behind the screen it is breathtaking. It was, funny, moving and exalerating. The most emotional show I've ever seen. We have booked to see it again! This time with front row seats. That says it all. Enjoy.xx

JOSPEH

Went to see the AMAZING show 11.08, a week on my 10 year old son and 6 year old daughter are still talking about it and singing the songs!! It was a totaly magical experience, which we will never, ever forget. We really wanted Lee to win the BBC show, they really did get the right leading man! We are still on a high and cannot wait to go again!

MAGICAL LEE AND JOSEPH!

Seen on 14th Aug. The magic of this wonderfully entertaining show has reminded me why theatre remains so important. Like other reviewers I also am still on a high and still singing the songs. Lee was simply superb. The rest of the cast cannot be faulted; The pharoah was great fun and the narrater put in a masterly performance.

WE WENT ON SATURDAY 18TH AUGUST AND YES HE IS BETTER THAN EVER, IT WAS AN AMAZING NIGHT, ALL OF THE CAST WERE BRILLIANT, THE NARRATOR AND PHAROH WERE ALSO MY FAVOURITES, I WOULD DEFINATLEY RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE. LEE IS BRILLIANT HE BROUGHT THE SHOW ALIVE AND THE STANDING OVATION WAS WELL DESERVED.

BEST COAT IN TOWN

If you want a good night out full of dancing, singing and just sheer entertainment, then Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor will provide everything. Six of us went and I can honestly say it was the best night out ever. Les Miserables is dramatic and fantastic, but Joseph is just sheer fun and entertainment. Everyone in the Stalls got up and sung and danced to the disco megamix. Lee Mead was 10 times better than Jason from Neighbours and the Narrator was fab! The fat dark coloured guy as a brother was brilliant. And old snake hips himself the Pharaoh was just the King. Would recommend this show to anyone and if you don' enjoy it then I guess you are a very sad person. Will bring a smile to anyone. Joseph truly amazed everyone.

GO GO GO LEE MEAD!!!!1

I went to see Joseph on 29 August and it was absolutely brilliant!! I voted for Lee several times during the "Any Dream Will Do "show and was thrilled to see him do such a great job.He was very vunerable and timid as the early Joseph, then strong and masterful as the Pharoah's number two.His voice was fantastic and made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.The whole cast seemed to genuinely enjoy the performance, the children were great ,the dancers electric and the brother with the large tummy was such fun to watch!!!!!I loved the fact that the performance had been updated and the comedy in it was superb.I'm still singing the songs!!! There was one problem though, I didn't get chance to eat a sweet as I was so mezmerised by what was happening on the stage!!It was an afternoon I will never forget ,Thankyou.

LEE MEAD IS FANTASTIC

Lee mead is fantastic as Joseph,I thoroughly enjoyed the show, the best £45 I have ever spent!!!!!!!!!!!The megamix finale was great but my favourite bit was when Joseph was up in the air at the end. Can't wait to go again, brilliant.

BEING 40 IS NOT THAT BAD AFTER ALL

My husband took me to see Joseph on 28th August for my 40th birthday pressie. I had been dreading my birthday it was like now I had reached forty I had to start growing up. But Lee put such a smile on my face, can't think of a better way for anyone to spend their birthday. His singing was fab and he still had that cheeky smile and glint in his eye that showed he was still enjoying his new found fame. Can I also praise the rest of the cast and especially the narrator and Pharaoh who were amazing as well. They rec'd a standing ovation at the end of the show and it was truely deserved. Certainly will try to go back again, got his holiday dates off the web site so I know when to avoid (weeks comm 14/21 Jan ,10 Mar, 5th May). If you don't enjoy this show you must be sad. On the 5 hour journey home we played the old (Jason D) CD over and over again, and I beleive the live show was better. Get yourself there, the UK public certainly picked the right person for this role.

A STAR IS BORN

Having loved and visited musical shows for the last 60 years I can honestly say this is the best ever. I have never seen an audience so much part of the stage. Keep it up Lee and all the rest of the cast

JOSEPH IS UPLIFTING!

A Brilliant and Colourful show made accessible to me on Wed 12th September 07 for I am profoundly deaf. Many thanks to The Adelphi and Stagetext for providing captions on that date. I have been a fan of Andrew Lloyd Webber ever sionce his mother, Jean, got me through GCE music round about the time this show was thought up, even though I was deaf then, so Joseph always hold uplifting memories and dreams for me. But this particular show had it all!

WHAT A SHOW-FANTASTIC

My husband brought me tickets for our anniversary He has never liked the theatre and especially musicals but knew how much i wanted to see it and Lee Mead after i had cheered him on in the tv show What a show mesmorising from start to finish and my hub loved it!!! Lee Mead made my hairs on the back of my neck stand on end, such a presence on stage and brilliant acting. A laugh too. the narrator had a brilliant voice and the Pharoah - what can i say. Go to see this show you will not be disappointed

A TRULY AMAZING EXPERIENCE

We didn't see Joseph first time round but having followed the programme each week on TV thought it would be nice to go and see it. Nothing could prepare me for the real thing. The show is out of this world. We had front row seats and just didn't know where to look. There's so much going on all of the time, everything about it is star quality the dancers, singers and actors. The humour, the various plots, the colours and energy it was just perfect. I'm already wanting to go back and see it again (and I only saw it last night). It's the first time in a long while that I just didn't want the show to finish. Well done Lee, you were always top of our list in the TV show. You've more than proved your worth in the West End. I would just like to say that we saw Grease a few weeks ago and although our children enjoyed it, it's not a patch on Joseph (sorry).

LEE MEAD WOO

I went to the performance on 25/09/07 and as soon as Lee Mead came on the stage, the audience went wild! I had been wanting to watch it ever since seeing Any Dream Will Do and I'm soooo glad Lee won; he truly deserved it and hasn't let the public down. I really want to go again with my friends [like the first time round] and this time, hopefully believe that I actually saw Lee Mead in the flesh..also, I'd LOVE to have his autograph! :] I would recommend this show to everyone I know and I have, I didn't really like my seat though .. I was at the back, 2nd to last row .. but I'd like to get better seats next time round.

GOOD VIEW FROM OUR SEATS ALTHOUGH NOT MUCH LEG ROOM BUT IT DIDN'T MATTER AS WATCHING LEE MORE THAN MAKE UP FOR IT. GO GO JOSEPH

Lee Mead IS Joseph, he was fantastic and no-one else would play the part as well as he does. The brothers were all fantastic and made the show funny, I last saw this when Jason Donovan was Joseph but they are both equally as good. My 6 year old daughter sang all the way through and was enthralled, brilliant want to see it again!!!!!

Blown away!! Lee Mead was made for the part. Absoloutly fantastic. The whole cast made the audience part of it. Interaction was great and the brothers were BRILL. You can't knock Lee, he has put his life & sole into this character - and boy does he play it well. Already booked to come again before Lee leaves the show - can't wait (and neither can my Mum!!!).

EXCELLENT ...WE DID CHOOSE THE RIGHT MAN FOR THE PART

what can i say about this show it was fantasic i were sat totally engulfed by the whole performance, my son and i was sat in seats g4 and g5 in the upper gallery and we could see the stage perfect,my son is 6"1 and said there was ample foot space, only part of the show we couldnt see was when they went to the right of the stage but as it was for few seconds u didnt miss nowt. id def recommend visiting lee in the show as he was outstanding, mind you they all were , my fav bit was as i would say " elvis making his apperance" that was just hillarious, the props were even good , i cant find nothing to say that was bad,

FANTABULOUS!

I saw the show yesterday (December 10th) and i can honestly say that it is the best show I have ever seen. I absolutely loved it. Lee was brilliant and did not disappoint, however, the rest of the cast were also great. I will definately be going again and to anyone who is not sure about whether they should go or not I would say you can take your children, you could take your granny this is the most colourful, humerous and least offensive musical you will ever see. I had the best time.

THE BEST JOSEPH YET

I have seen the Joseph musical five times prior to this last visit. Lee is the best Joseph ever. He sings all of his songs with such sincerity that he raises the hairs on the back of the neck. The whole show is bounding with energy and the brothers are superb. I lived this show for weeks after seeing it. Only wished I lived nearer to London and I would be a regular visitor.

FANTASTIC!!!

This musical is simply amazing, fantastic, brilliant and Lee Mead is the best Joseph they have had or will ever have. He is an amazing singer and performer, really putting everything he has into the show. All the other performers were also fantastic, including the children. The stage props were sensational. I never expected to enjoy or laugh as much as I did. I will be returning again to see Joseph. I would recommend this show to everyone over the age of 10 as it may be a bit to long for younger children to sit through. The only thing that spoilt our enjoyment was 2 children needing the toilet during the performance and I would guess they were both under 10. After the show Lee Mead comes out the front of the theatre and hands out photo's and signs autographs. I was lucky enough to be in the front and was able to give him a kiss, this made the whole experience even more memorable and special. Thank you Lee.

SIMPLY THE BEST

This has to be the best show I have seen in a long time. Lee was brilliant and Herod was ace! The whole cast were suberb from the narrator to the coloured sheep. I am desperate to get tickets to go again!!

THE BEST STAND IN EVER!!

We have just returned from seeing the show with Lewis Bradley taking the part of Joseph-WOW!! He has always had the voice but to actually see him taking on the part that Lee is dominating was amazing. You were so good Lewis that we are certain you will have a v.long career in the west-end.We saw you in Chicago and Beyond and you were excellent in that too. the actor who played pharoh as Elvis deserves a mention as well. The energy of the cast is so intoxicating.Well done.....minus point all the v.young children talking through-out and wanting the toilet!!!

5.0 star rating Pat from Kent

LEE HAD BETTER WATCH OUT!!!

Yesterday's matinee of Joseph was excellent. Lewis was amazing. Our party were enthralled including very small children who after going to the toilet could not be moved. Ticket prices are the same for all so all should be allowed to watch. The whole show is a good family outing.

JOSEPH 19.01.07

Fantastic show very energetic and colourful my only disappointment was that we did not get to see Lee Mead play Joseph, especially as I had voted for him umpteen times and booked the show in the hope that I would see him. Lewis was cute but we felt that his voice was weak for a West End production. The narrator was amazing made my hairs stand on end. Down side of the Adephi are that the toilets are the pits!!!!!

FABULOUS

Saw the show last night and had goosebumps on my goosebumps - the whole cast was fantastic - I don't know how they keep going. The stamina, engergy and expression involved was amazing. I love this musical and have seen it 3 times (with different leads) and it keeps getting better. I really don't know what show the people below this review went to see! Lee Mead deserved to win this role and he sang and acted his loin-cloth off - I will definitely be going again.

Was a little unsure of what to expect - but I wasn't disappointed - Lee Mead heads a fab cast - great, timeless songs and a real feel good factor show! Loved it - and boy, what a perfect choice for the lead - Lee Mead is a star - and long may he stay at the forefront of musical theatre But don't forget the rest of the superb cast - there are some amazing voices in there - particularly Jenna Lee-James Go see it!!!

JOSEPH

Went to see Joseph with my mom and EverGreen coaches May 21st. One of my all time favourite musicals and my first ever live show! Words can not express how fantastic it was. I was that overcome by emotion I sat their crying to the first few songs. A truly magical experience that's a must for everyone including the kids! I hope to return with the rest of my family ASAP! Thank you to all involved with the production and for making my day!!!!!!! X

A GREAT FEEL-GOOD SHOW

We saw Joseph Sept 2008 and loved it! We have seen most of the big West End shows over the years and thought this one compared very favourably. The hightlight for me was the children's choir. Their enthusiasm and naturalness was remarkable and brought a "feel good" factor to the night out. They never stopped smiling and it actually looked like they wanted to. I also loved the "brother" who was later the chef in jail - he played his part well and had me in stitches. The music and action was fast changing - it helps if you know the basics of the story before you go along. Lee Mead's performance was good, the pharoh sounded a bit muffled. In summary it was a great night out and we all came away smiling.

5.0 star rating Clare from Woodford

A FANTASTIC NIGHT OUT FOR ALL AGES

We saw Joseph at the Adelphi for the second time on 7th Sept 2008. It certainly won't be the last time we see it, as it is one of those plays that you can watch again and again. The best part for me was the children's ensemble, who brought joy, excitement and enthusiasm in abundance. They were at the same time both professional and yet natural. Definitely a talented bunch of kids! The brother/chef was really funny. He's my definite favourite. He is a born comedian! Pharaoh is acted in the style of Elvis. It had me in stitches. Again really funny. Sadly I still couldn't make out all the words though. I think this was down to the style of music rather than the performer. Lee Mead was good - his voice is truly amazing. Sadly he messed up the words in the song where he interprets the chef's dream. Other than that he carried the role off well, and of course looks great. Fantastic. In summary, go along to have a light-hearted laugh and a great night out. PS. Sadly, no DVD

AMAZING!

I went to see it last night (3 Dec '08) with my mum and we absolutely loved it! We couldn't stop smiling all the way home on the tube and we're still smiling now (and humming ths songs). It had so much energy and was such fun. The atmosphere was so uplifting in the whole theatre. Lee Mead was absolutely spine tinglingly good, what a great voice, Jenna the narrator was brilliant and as for the pharoah - hysterical! We thought the whole cast was brilliant though and not one outshone the other. We also liked the way the children were included throughout. We sat in the dress circle at the front and had a brilliant view. The only place I wouldn't recommend would be the front of the stalls and if you're really tall with long legs, a box would be best, but apart from that - take your pick. I'm going again when Gareth Gates is in it and taking mum (again!), my sister-in-law and niece! Anyone who likes musicals has GOT to go and see this.

WONDERFUL SHOW - NOT TO BE MISSED!!!!!

Just wanted to say how great the show is!! of Joseph (Starring Lee Mead) also the narrator Jenna she's fantastic and credit is due for she works really hard, and of course the children they excellent too, we have seen the show 8 times now and the children who were in it last friday night wer the first group we saw, there's one little girl who I think is a favourite of mine and she get's lifted up onto the shoulders of the actor in the show, she's very petite and usually has red and I remember the first time I saw her she has lost some teeth and she is a great little actress. I cannot believe that Lee has done really well for himself and we have followed him from the TV show right up to seeing the show. Everyone who performs in the show deserves credit and also the brother wh plays Judah he makes us laugh, as he has a bit of a tummy, but he's so fit too. If anyone has'nt seen the show - I really recomment it to them. Best Wishes to everyone from Christine & Peter (Buckberry)

AMAZING! LEE MEAD, SPOT ON!

I went and saw Joseph in London on the 3rd January 2009. It was my christmas present from my mum and dad and by far my best present. I absolutely adore Lee Mead and when he made his first appearance in the performance i had a tear in my eye because he was just perfect from the start. I was thrilled to be able to see Lee Mead and get his autograph after the show outside, it was the cherry on top for the whole experience. Good Luck Lee in all you do! Good Luck Gareth!

BEST MUSICAL EVER!

I went to see this musical over Christmas and have been playing the soundtrack every day since!! The cast was the best cast I've ever seen!! Lee Mead was of course on top form and i couldn't believe that he was actually performing right in front of my eyes!! I have never met such a talented actor. Also, the Narrator (acted by Fiona Reyes) was amazing; her voice was so powerful and she really told the story better than I think anyone else could, ever!!!!!! This musical was definately the highlight of the year and I can't wait to see it again some time soon!!!!!

GARETH IS AMAZING

I went to the Matinee on Wednesday and was absolutely blown away by the energy and fast pace of the show! I thought all the cast were wonderful, Jenna as the Narrator is excellent in my opinion and I think that Gareth after just three official performances was amazing! His voice is perfect for the part as he has such range and control, his classical training is obvious. He also was able to portray the cheeky and emotional sides of Joseph really well, the audience gave him and the rest of the cast a wonderful ovation at the end.I can't wait to see it again in May!

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC.....

Jenna Lee James as the narrator was brilliant and I was very very surprised at Gareth Gates vocal range, he really was quite outstanding - in fact the whole cast were, I havent seen Joseph since 1981 - the humour and wit had the audience chuckling. I took my sons aged 12 and 8 (their first REAL theatre trip) who were completely gripped at the very start and clapping their hand off at the end. This will be imprinted in out memories forever. WHAT A FAB NIGHT.

GARETH AS JOSEPH

Not seen Joseph for about 18 years so had to see it again when I found out Gareth had got the part. I have allways loved his singing but was surprised at what a good actor he is. Couldn't imagine Gareth getting angry and agressive but he really pulled it off. His singing of "Close any Door" was very emotional, that and "Any Dream will do" were my favourites but Gareth sang all amazingly well. He was a very popular choice with the audience and looked wonderful in the loin cloth as he did in all the costumes and I couldn't keep my eyes of him. But the whole cast were great and I found the Baker really funny. Also loved the singing and Dancing of the children, this is a very fast moving action show. I think Gareth made it his own and was very comfortable in the part. In fact it was like this part was made for him. He finished to loud cheers from the audience and I enjoyed it so much I have booked to go again in March. PLEASE IGNORE THE PREVIOUS REVIEW AS I MESSED UP

GREAT NIGHT OUT.

Went on Friday 13th February even though I am superstitious. Dress circle seat A14 provided a fantastic view and the show was brilliant. The kids were terrific and the brother with the slight "Belly" really made me laugh (can't say that he's plump in these PC times can I ?), Gareth was ideal for the role. Highly recommended for all. Thanks cast for a great night out.

JOSEPH - GARETH GATES

My mother, my 9 year old daughter and I booked to see Joseph purely becuase Gareth Gates was appearing. None of us had seen a musical before and we were blown away by the whole show. Seen this show twice and Gareth is a fabulous Joseph. The whole cast is sensational and the children fabulous. Highly recommended. What a shame it is closing early.

GARETH IS A BRILLIANT JOSEPH

My husband and I saw Josph last night, I have always been a Gareth fan and thought he was brilliant as joseph. My husband, who was a bit sceptical before we went was completely bowled over by the whole production and thought Gareth had a great voice and really good stage presence. I'm going to try and get tickets to see this again before it closes in May.

BEST JOSEPH EVER

GARETH GATES WAS BRILIANT AS JOSEPH. THE SHOW WAS AMAZING WITH THE RIGHT LEVEL OF HUMOUR . THE KING CAST AS ELVIS WAS A STROKE OF GENIUS. EVERY ONE WORKED SO HARD TO GIVE A VERY POLISHED PERFORMANCE. THE STAR OF THE SHOW WAS GARETH. SO SAD TO HEAR IT'S FINSIHING AT THE END OF MAY AS I WAS GOING TO BOOK TO SEE IT AGIAN IN JUNE.

25 OCTOBER

We were not disappointed by 'Joseph', a fantastic evening out full of colour and inspirational performances. The entire cast were extraordinary, from dancers, the children, to the more 'major' parts; the 11 brothers were particularly amusing and all their songs were impressively executed! My only small problem was the volume of the finale section, that was in my opinion far too loud to be comfortable, leaving that 'far too loud disco hearing' the day afterwards. Beautifully narrated with humour and clarity of diction - we heard every word in all of the production, apart from the Pharoah's songs where the high volume of sound output yet again made the lyrics hard to understand. Lee Mead - how can anyone fail to be impressed and carried along with his enthusiasm - he looks, sounds and believes in the part!

NO LEE MEAD

I came to see the show on Sat 8 Nove 08. After following, voting and seeing Lee win everyones heart in the "who will be Jospeh". I saved all year to come along and see this amazing performance only to be disappointed that Lee was not appearing. Whilst i understand there are understudies for all parts, surely there should have been some notification that Lee would not be performing on this day. Overall the show was fab, but there is also the disappointment that we came all this way to see Lee Mead, for it to be announced as the performance was starting that the part would be played by Ricky Rojas. I feel the star of the show was actually the Narrator she was fab.

29 SEPTEMBER SHOW

Hi I loved the show and had seen it twice when Jason Donovan was in it years ago. I love the story line, we did this at school when I was a kid and its stuck with me since. The only problem I have with it was that I wanted to see Lee perform as I had followed the TV program when he won the part of Joseph so when he came out of stage and only stayed for a bout 10mins I was very upset, it kind of was a let down after that. Only because I had been looking forward to seeing Lee other than that the show was great!

NOT UP TO EXPECTATION

My wife and I came out of this production very disappointed and it was not because Lee Mead was not starring. Lewis was a good understudy, but the rest of the cast was poor. We were unable to follow the story, as we could not hear the words of the songs, especially the Elvis impersonator as Pharaoh, the Joseph brothers and Potiphar & his wife. Why was the production trivialised by having the Pharaoh demeaned by a comic figure and having the brothers sing with a French accent? Its the worst West End show we have ever seen.
