Starring Matt Smith as Dr. Thomas Stockmann, the story follows him in a small town where he stumbles upon some terrible news: the town's main source of income, the local spa, has toxic contaminated water. Seeking to reveal the truth and save lives in the process, Stockmann publishes his findings only to receive vilification from the town. The news could destroy the town's economy, and so Stockmann receives pressure to retract his statement. What follows is a moral dilemma: can he retain his integrity, or will Stockmann cover up his findings to save face?
Thomas Ostermeier pushes the form and boundaries of theatre... It is an honour to be able to work with him on this great play and become part of this unique project.
