High School Musical Review Roundup! Go Wildcats!
This musical has got its head in the game!
Is this the start of something new, or something destined for greatness? Kids of the noughties are flocking to see this stage adaptation faster than East High students auditioning for Ms Darbus's very own musicale! High School Musical gave us the modern-day Danny and Sandy (a la Troy and Gabriella), and now it's finally bopped its way to the top of London's Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre, packed with enough hits to make a cafeteria full of kids burst into song and dance. The critics are certainly all in this together with their unanimous praise for the show. So only one question remains...
When is High School Musical 2 coming to the stage?
High School Musical London Reviews
"This production does the original proud, and, with its infectious energy and positive message, it also has the potential to be the start of something new' for a whole new generation of theatregoers." LondonTheatre.co.uk
"The level of care that has gone into the show reflects in every moment, if nothing else. The costuming, as terrible as it seems to refer to it as a period piece, does reflect the time, and also embraces the star power of mounting a show like this. Sequinned tracksuits donned for the last number prove that the love for the show is present in every decision and that each and every member of the cast and crew deserves to sparkle just a little for how impressive a show it is." London Theatre Reviews
"Twenty years later, High School Musical continues to bring joy. Fans of the film will revel in the nostalgia, but newcomers will find just as much to enjoy in a production packed with energy, heart and infectious optimism. It's impossible not to get swept along by its enthusiasm, and even harder not to leave with a smile plastered across your face." Theatre Weekly
"With a sensational cast all putting their own spins on the iconic roles, this is a feel-good production that sets out to do nothing more than thrill and entertain, ticking all the boxes in that regard. This production is sure to entertain Wildcats young and old in one of the most fun shows I have seen in some time. If fun is what you are looking for, get'cha self down to Wembley for a production the world should see." All That Dazzles
"A feel-good, unabashedly cheesy night out. Playing at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre until the 3rd January 2027, you better hurry up, get'cha head in the game and book your High School Musical tickets today." London Theatre Direct
