Plain old funny with a touch of pathos
This is very, very funny. The characters, the timing (both physical and verbal) plus the set and props are designed to keep the laughter coming and indeed growing throughout. My family, including two late teenage boys, just sat back and trusted Mischief Theatre to deliver - as ever, they excelled. Great comedy often hurts just a little and here the writing and acting was clever, the audience stopped - then ofcourse the next laugh is even bigger. We all love this group and we all love this theatre; we walked up the Strand grinning from ear to ear

Laughter, True Friendship, Hamstercide
Groan Ups is Mischief Theatre's best play to date. It's all about the evolution of friendships that begin at school. All the cast excelled. The play came to boil the longer it went on, as all good comedies do, and was also tinged with a touch of sadness and hamstercide. It would be unfair to single out any cast member because they were all brilliant. If you're looking for a play to see in the West End this autumn, this is the one. You will want to see it again, it's that good.
