Our review of Consent
One of the best shows of the year!

A Contemporary Masterpiece
a masterclass in dramatic writing
Kitty says:
"One of the best shows I've seen this year, Consent not only explores an important and timely topic, it is also a masterclass in dramatic writing, holding a mirror up to ourselves as we line up to judge the ethically murky actions of the characters. Forever in love with Stephen Campbell, and blown away by Claudie Blakley and Adam James, this is a contemporary masterpiece - witty, compelling and unapologetic in its own confusion of this difficult issue - plus stunningly directed and designed!"
Abigail says:
"Dubbed as 'blistering', Raine's witty, questioning and downright clever script provides you with laugh out moments as well as time to reflect and examine what has be brought before you.
The subject of Consent, is as timely as ever and Raine, along with her stellar cast, bring you a human response. As the characters battle between truth and justice the audience's own preconceptions are challenged, with every belly laugh you begin to wonder, should I really be laughing at this?
Raine could have easily made this piece entirely dark and sombre, and it wouldn't have gone a miss inline with the subject matter, but somehow the light and funny moments aided in focussing the importance of what was happening between the lines, bringing the audience to a point of understanding and recognition"
Consent is at the Harold Pinter Theatre until August 11th
