Why See A Christmas Carol?

Don't Miss Mark Gatiss' Christmas Carol

British stage and screen icon Mark Gatiss (Doctor Who, Sherlock) writes and performs in his very own take of beloved Yuletide classic A Christmas Carol - A Ghost Story. This festive season, the perennially popular story wings its way to the Nottingham Playhouse and London's Alexandra Palace starring Gatiss as Scrooge's business partner Jacob Morley, promising thrills, chills and a good dose of Victorian phantasmagoria.

The story follows the miserly, misanthropic creditor Scrooge, who continues to be just as stingy and greedy as usual when  Christmas arrives, a time when others' thoughts turn to kindness and sharing. After a Christmas eve day spent yelling at charity workers and snubbing a Christmas dinner invitation from his good-natured nephew Fred, Scrooge is visited by three magical spirits that take him on a journey into his past, present and future in a bid to show him the error of his curmudgeonly ways.
