2:22 - A Ghost Story Reviews

SHHH... DON'T TELL
"Shhh! Don't tel..." Spoilers alert! Nah, just kidding. Remember The Mousetrap where at the end of the play the audience is asked ro keep a secret about how the story unravels. Same here so, no darlings, im not telling you about the culmination, no no no. Nevertheless, i will tell you my verdict. Excellent play!!! Im such a chicken and not a fan of horror movies at all so inevitably i was slightly apprehensive. There are a few shivering momemts, when the stage getting lit in a red neon light square and these flashes are accompanied by a screamš± But the play is more emotional rather than scary. It's about souls and how they may, or may not! connect supernaturally. Or perhaps it is normal that our souls, our dreams, our love, our thoughts link elsewhere and give us that impulse when we suddenly think: I saw it somewhere, i know it somehow, it happened before or how is it possible. I'll tell you just a few details. Julia has a baby and as we know emotions fly high, when new mums have sleep deprivation and overwhelmed with the mothering love. She starts seeing things. Aren't we all when we don't sleep, huh? These things - someone is walking, someone is crying happen at precisely 2:22 at night. Creepy. And she needs to protect her baby from whatever it is. Julia is trying to explain to her hubby and their friends, who are visiting for dinner, that the house is haunted. They are debating, arguing, her husband being very sceptical. Those foxes noises in their bacl yard are hotrible. I have them too by the way, totally creepy even if you don't believe in ghosts. Did they find out about the ghost. I can't tell you. Julia is played by Lilly Alen, other actors are Julia Chan, Jake Wood ( EastEnders), Hadley Frazer. The play is in NoĆ«l Coward Theatre until October, highly recommend! onlyme.london.and.beyond #222AGhostStory

ENGAGING AND ENTERTAINING
A solid modern script that holds your attention all the way through and doesnāt disappoint. Yes, itās not Shakespeare- thankfully, as you can see that elsewhere. Definitely recommendā¦

JUST LOVED ITā¦
I wasnāt sure what to expect, Iām a fan of the spooky and scary so I was intrigued to see how this would work on the stage. I was gripped from start to finish, I wanted to rush the interval and didnāt want the play to end. I felt connected to the complex relationships of the characters, and this play offered a much deeper experience than I could have hoped for. What an absorbing, sensory, sad and edgy performance. Loved it.

GREAT ENTERTAINMENT
Well I am obviously not a sophisticated theatregoer like some of the negative reviewers on here but I thoroughly enjoyed 2:22. Thought whole cast excellent lay off Lily Allen she was great! Possibly a bit overlong but the storyline was good entertainment and a decent twist at the end! Worth seeing!
