STUNNINGLY GOOD

A musical about 9/11….? That can’t be uplifting… surely? Wrong! This was the most intense and uplifting show I have seen in decades. It proves that you don’t need a cast of thousands or a whizz-bang set to make an evening incredible. Every performance is outstanding - including a superb band. There wasn’t a single ‘weaker moment’ - and as it runs without an interval - you leave the theatre just buzzing….

WITHOUT DOUBT THE MOST ENJOYABLE SHOW I HAVE SEEN IN YEARS.

Totally charming; it made me laugh out loud and brought a tear to my eye. At a time when all the musicals have the same formulaic scores, dreary lyrics, and are increasingly reliant on special effects, this is so refreshing. The cast works tirelessly to tell their tale of a tragic event in a respectful and thoroughly engaging manner. I have to admit that I am prone to some very long blinks when a show is overly predictable and dull, but this kept me energised and enthused. Without doubt the most enjoyable show I have seen in years. I would also like to thank the staff at the Phoenix theatre who were super friendly and efficient in these difficult covid times.

FABULOUS, GO SEE IT!

This was absolutely excellent. The audience did not hesitate for a second in giving a standing ovation and for good reason. The energy from the cast was incredible. Great story, great songs, hugely talented from cast and musicians. I did not expect it to be this good.

SMALL-TOWN CANADA EXPLAINED IN 1 HR 45 MINUTES

Okay, I am a Canadian, but this is really how it is! You will probably remember where you were on 9-11 when the Twin Towers in NYC were hit, but did you know what happened to all those planes in the air that got diverted to a small town in Newfoundland, Canada? This musical is a powerful example of the fear and good in mankind. You will NOT be disappointed in this superb production. One line stands out to me: "Because you would do it for me".

AMAZING

We booked tickets because everyone said how good the show is. We knew the basic story but not any of the songs or music. It is amazing. The characters feel so real and the music is excellent. We laughed and we cried. The show is so uplifting but also deep and meaningful. We want to watch it all over again.

What we thought

A stunning TRIUMPH

We're reminded that despite our differences, kindness and understanding has the power to unite us all

As the events of 9/11 united us all in heartbreak and fear, so too does Come From Away, scraping away layers of that unforgettable day and showing us the little-known story of Gander, a small town in Newfoundland.
