Why See The Picture of Dorian Gray?
uk premiere!
Succession star Sarah Snook takes on a challenge worthy of the Roys as she returns to the stage in this novel new adaptation of Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray, where she'll be playing every role! Created by Sydney Theatre Company Artistic Director Kip Williams, this 'cine-theatre' production will use both live performance and video to create a vivid and exciting new iteration of the tale of the morally ambiguous artisto, who remains as young and vital as ever while his hidden portrait gathers the scars of his many sins.
Speaking on the venture, Snook commented "I am elated to return to the London stage in such an astonishing piece of theatre...From Oscar Wilde's remarkable original text to Kip Williams' stunning adaptation, this story of morality, innocence, narcissism, and consequence is going to be thrilling to recreate for a new audience. I can't wait." Based on this incredible casting, and the show's effusive reviews for its Syndey premiere, neither can we!
