Bryony Kimmings: I'm a Phoenix, Bitch

The material may not be cheerful, but Kimmings' on stage persona, as well as the tightly written and edited script, are full of a life-affirming humour that makes I'm a Phoenix a real joy to watch.

Why see Bryony Kimmings: I'm a Phoenix, Bitch?
Who do we become after trauma?
Whilst 2016 raged on, smiting our favourite stars, birthing Brexit and further disappointment, Bryony Kimmings was facing her own anguish. Facing a catalogue of catastrophe in her personal life including the breakdown of her relationship and an extremely sick child, she found herself drowning, both figuratively and literally.
Following a 5-star sell-out run in 2018 Bryony Kimmings (The Pacifist's Guide to War on Cancer, Fake It Till You Make it) rises from the ashes of a devastating year with her first solo show in over a decade once more for a three-week run. A mesmerising blend of autobiography, storytelling, performance, and multi-media, I'm a Phoenix, Bitch is a dark, yet ultimately joyful examination of motherhood, mental health, trauma and the fight for survival.
