I'm Not Going!

It's time to say farewell to Dreamgirls

Arriving in the West End with as much pizzazz as a cascading glitter fountain Dreamgirls time in London has come to an end. After a scintillating two year run the show will take its final bow at the Savoy Theatre on January 12. Let's look back at this awesome show's time in the West End...

With the original cast featuring the likes of Amber Reily (of Glee fame), Liisi LaFontaine, Ibinabo Jack and Adam J. Bernard Dreamgirls opened to a whirlwind of praise from the critics.

"A fantastically entertaining ride on the showbiz rollercoaster, accompanied by some brilliantly belting voices."

- The Guardian

"A show with tremendous gusto of soul and gaiety of spirit."

- The Telegraph

"An electric megawatt of a musical and a sure fire West End hit, it's much more than a 'one night only' event; this is a show that commands multiple visits to fall in love with it over and over again. "

- The Stage

Our very own Kitty McCarron said -

"Truly one of the best things on in London at the moment, if you want to have the most astounding two hours in the theatre. Go, I promise you're gonna love it!"

Loosely based on the story of The Supremes Dreamgirls tells the story of three young women who face trials and tribulations to become international superstars! Although the musical is mega popular the show has only ever had one Broadway and one West End run. First debuting on Broadway way back in 1981 the musical ran for a whopping 1,521 performances before closing in 1985. Word on the street is that American theatre-goers are gagging for a revival and are jealous of our amazing West End run!

Dreamgirls phenomenon reached its peak when Jennifer Hudson, Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy and Beyonce all starred in the 2006 movie adaptation.  The movie went onto win two Oscars including one for Jennifer Hudson who won the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role.

Full of glitz, glamour and all that sparkles Dreamgirls is the toast of the West End! Don't miss your chance to see this wonderful musical live, who knows when you'll get a second chance...
