Danny Mac and Aimie Atkinson To Star In Pretty Woman The Musical

The Broadway outfit arrives in London in 2020
Broadway hit Pretty Woman The Musical is heading across the pond for its London premiere this February. Stage and screen heartthrob, Danny Mac will star as Edward with former SIX-star Aimie Atkinson stepping into the role of Vivian.
Mac can currently be seen on stage in Irving Berlin's White Christmas at the Dominion Theatre. Atkinson was a part of the original cast for the London smash-hit, SIX, where she starred as Henry VIII's fifth wife, Katherine Howard and garnered a 2018 Olivier Award nomination.
Beginning previews on 14 February 2020 Pretty Woman features a libretto by Garry Marshall and J.F. Lawton with music by Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance. Jerry Mitchell will direct and choreograph the production.
The original Broadway production of Pretty Woman, which ran for just over a year and concluded its run in the summer, starred Samantha Barks as Vivian and Andy Karl as Edward. Barks is heading back to the West End in October as she stars as Elsa in the London premiere of Disney's Frozen.
What is Pretty Woman about?
A ruthless and driven business tycoon, Edward specializes in taking over businesses and then selling them off, piece by piece, totally unsympathetic to the hundreds of employees' lives he destroys. During a trip to LA, he finds himself without a partner for series of schmaltzy functions, so hires a sex worker to act as his escort. The lady of the night he chooses is Vivian, who much like Edward, goes about her work with a clinical detachment.
As their week together progresses, this usually isolated couple find themselves utterly comfortable in each other's company and discover that they might just be falling for each other. Can this blossoming romance turn both of their lives around?
