& Juliet Scores NINE Olivier Award Nominations

The new musical is this year's most-nominated production!

The brand new musical, & Juliet has become this year's most-nominated production at the 2020 Olivier Awards with nine in total, this includes the nominations for Best New Musical and Best Actress in a Musical for Miriam-Teak Lee who stars as the titular Juliet!

Their other nominations include; Best Actor in a Supporting Role for David Bedella, Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical for Cassidy Janson, Best Original Score or New Orchestration, Best Theatre Choreographer for Jennifer Weber, Best Lighting Design, Best Costume Design and Best Set Design.

& Juliet is currently playing at the Shaftesbury Theatre where it opened back in November 2019. The musical, which features the music of super-producer Max Martin ("Hit Me Baby One More Time", "I Want It That Way", "Roar"), flips the original Shakespeare play of Romeo & Juliet on its head and gives the story a little 21st Century spruce up!

Lee, Janson and Badella are joined in the cast by Oliver Tompsett, Arun Blair-Mangat, Melanie La Barrie, Jordan Luke Gage and Time Mahendran. & Juliet is directed by Luke Sheppard.

What is & Juliet about?

& Juliet rips up the rule book as we discover what happened if the sorry end of Romeo and Juliet never actually happened. With Romeo dead, our heroine Juliet heads to France to heal her broken heart. With her besties at her side and a whole host of musical bangers to boot, Juliet rediscovers life after love. 

& Juliet is now playing at the Shaftesbury Theatre through to 3rd October 2020
