Mary Poppins Garners Top Award Nominations!

Not only did Mary Poppins return to London's West End with glittering reviews but the production can now boast of having six Olivier Award nominations to their name too!

Stars of the show Zizi Strallen (Mary Poppins) and Charlie Stemp's (Bert) talents didn't go unnoticed as the duo both picked up nominations for Best Actress in a Musical and Best Actor in a Musical respectively. Petula Clark also picked up the nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical for her turn as the Bird Woman. 

Mary Poppin's other nominations included Best Theatre Choreographer for Stephen Mear and Matthew Bourne, Best Musical Revival and Best Set Design. 

The cast of Mary Poppins also includes Joseph Millson as Mr Banks, Amy Griffiths as Winifred Banks, Claire Moore as Miss Andrew, Claire Machin as Mrs Brill, Jack North as Robertson Ay and Barry James Bank Chairman and Admiral Boom.

What is Mary Poppins about?

Jane and Michael Banks have chased away all their previous nanny's, much to the despair of their parents, George and Winifred. When the children's letter explaining what they want in a nanny is ripped up and thrown on the fire by their father, their hopes of finding a kind nanny is lost. That is however until the wind changes and the mysterious Mary Poppins turns up at the door along with adventure and magic. To George's exasperation, Mary Poppins becomes a beloved member of the family, teaching the Bank's a lot more than they think...
