Aspects of Love to close early

It looks like love couldn't change the trajectory of this musical
Starring Michael Ball, Laura Pitt-Pulford, and Jamie Boygo, this reimaging of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Don Black, and Charles Hart's 1989 musical has posted a closing notice for August 19th, ahead of its originally scheduled end of November 2023.
Most famous for the torch song 'Love Changes Everything', which became a hit for Ball during the original run, keeping him in the UK charts for 14 weeks, this revival sees Ball take a step back from the young male lead (Boygo) to play George, his equally love-struck uncle.
While reviews favoured aspects of the show's production as "immaculately put together" (The New York Times) and "a delight so long as you ignore basically the entire plot" (Time Out), most were not won over. From "a preposterous blast from the past" (The Guardian) to "torrid" and "unconvincing" (Variety) it looked like the show lacked soul, a vital ingredient for a successful musical.
Still represented Phantom, The Wizard of Oz, and the upcoming revival of Sunset Boulevard, it looks like Andrew Lloyd Webber won't mind this closure so much, and its perhaps as ready as audiences and critics to consign this one to history.
