Swan Lake
Set against Tchaikovsky's haunting score, the ballet tells the story of a beautiful princess - Odette- who is turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer's spell, only to return to her human form at night. One evening she encounters Prince Siegfried, the heir to the kingdom, and the two fall madly in love. But after dancing together, she mysteriously disappears into the night, leaving him desperate to find her.
Meanwhile, his parents are keen for him to marry into another royal family and hold a ball for him. The Prince is despondent, until the arrival of a mysterious black-clad woman who looks exactly like his beloved Odette - however, this woman is called Odile, and is dressed like a Black Swan. This stranger dances flirtatiously and wildly, and Seigfried is overjoyed until he notices a mysterious figure in white desperately gesturing to him from a mirror; Odette. Will he be able to break the sorcerer's spell and be with the princess that he loves?
Sleeping Beauty
On the day of her grand christening, the Princess Aurora is admired by all in the kingdom, including a cast of fairies, ready to imbue her with the virtues she'll need in life. But one fairy is left off the guest list- the evil fairy! Furious, she bursts into the hall and curses baby Aurora, wishing her to die upon her 16th birthday, after pricking her finger on a spinning wheel. But all is not lost, the strong Lilac fairy, while not able to undo the curse, can adapt it, and instead Aurora will sleep...for 100 years...
When the time comes, the Lilac fairy bewitches the whole realm into sleep, joining Aurora in her sentence, as vines and trees grow up around the palace, hiding it from view. Finally, Aurora's saviour, Prince Desire arrives and plants on her true love's kiss, waking the Princess and kingdom just in time for a jubilant and triumphant wedding ceremony.
Nutcracker
Our story begins on a snowy Christmas Eve, at a great townhouse where a party is in full swing. Whilst the adults talk, the children play with their presents, and the hosts' children are beside themselves with joy at the wonder of it all. There's an element of danger on the horizon though, heralded by the arrival of local magician Herr Drosselmeyer. He comes bearing gifts for the children, including a wooden nutcracker for Clara, the oldest child. However, Fritz her younger brother is jealous of the toy, and maliciously breaks the toy's jaw, to Clara's despair.
When the clock strikes midnight, the atmosphere changes; the party is over and everybody is asleep. This is just the start of an adventure which will lead our heroine and her magical Nutcracker prince into a war between mice and tin soldiers and into the enchanted Land of Sweets where a festival awaits them.
