Gwyneth Paltrow Ski-Trial Musical Comes To West End

I Wish You Well Comes To London's West End This September

The musical comedy I Wish You Well: The Gwyneth Paltrow Ski-Trial Musical' is set to make its West End debut at the Criterion Theatre from 11 September 2024 to 12 October 2024. After a successful run at the Underbelly during last year's Edinburgh Fringe, this four-person show will bring the (mostly) true story of the campiest celebrity trial in history, Gwyneth vs Terry, to London.

The musical is filled with iconic moments, including questions about Taylor Swift and the now-famous whisper, "I Wish You Well." It's a fast-paced parody that promises to be as delightful as Gwyneth's candles smell.

The entire cast from the Fringe will reprise their roles for the West End run. This includes X Factor star Diana Vickers as Gwyneth, Marc Antolin as Terry, Tori Allen-Martin as Kristin, and Idriss Kargbo as Judge Jude.

Directed by Shiv Rabheru, with music and lyrics by Rick Pearson, and a book with additional lyrics by Roger Dipper, the show features choreography by Arlene Phillips, musical direction by Debbi Clarke, design by David Shield, lighting by Alex Lewer, sound by Dan Samson, and casting by Seth Mason CDG.

Critics have praised the show for its witty lyrics and perfectly pitched humor. One reviewer described it as a "raucous and irreverent musical satire" that delivers on many levels, while another noted its emotional generosity and irreverence without cruelty. The New York Times hailed it as a "triumph," highlighting its emotional connection and masterful weaving of true pathos.

Don't miss this hilarious musical bursting with heart, playing at the Criterion Theatre from 11 September to 12 October 2024.
