The Lyric Hammersmith welcomes a world premiere to its stage this winter as Matt Jones' Leave To Remain debuts at the west London theatre hub. Starring Olivier nominee Tyrone Huntley and Billy Cullum take a look at these brand new images!
Featuring music by Bloc Party frontman Kele Okereke and Matt Jones, Leave To Remain is directed by Robby Graham and explores the effect that one gay marriage has on it's two joining families.
This production marks the beginning of the end of artistic director Sean Holmes' final spring season at the Lyric after driving the theatre forward with his ground-breaking programming for the last nine years.
What is Leave To Remain about?
Leave To Remain chronicles the effects one gay marriage has on the two very different families it brings together and an uncertain future that dawns upon them. Drawing from the records his parents played during his childhood, Okereke fuses West African high-life music with the electronic dance-tinged sounds of contemporary times and his own indie rock stylings.
