The West End takes on small-town America

Production photos have dropped for Clarkston, Samuel D Hunter's quietly powerful play now running at the Trafalgar Theatre - and they're giving us plenty to get excited about.

Clarkston is only sticking around for a limited run, playing until 22 November with its official press night on 25 September. If you're keen to catch Locke, Mollica and Melville bringing Hunter's tender, bittersweet tale to life, tickets are on sale now.

Making his West End debut, Heartstopper star and WhatsOnStage Award-winner Joe Locke takes on the role of Jake, a young man drifting westward in search of meaning. One fateful night, he crosses paths with Chris (played by Ruaridh Mollica) while stacking shelves at a Costco in a forgotten corner of America. What starts as a late-night shift soon grows into something bigger - a bond that pushes both men to dream of a different future. Sophie Melville rounds out the tight-knit cast.

The play comes from the pen of Samuel D Hunter, the writer behind The Whale, A Case for the Existence of God and A Bright New Boise. It also reunites Hunter with director Jack Serio, following their recent New York collaboration on Grangeville.
