The Reviews For High Noon Are In!

What did critics think of this Western morality story?

Directed by Olivier winner Thea Sharrock, with a script by Oscar winner Eric Roth, High Noon follows newly married marshal Will Kane as he prepares to leave town - just as word spreads that notorious outlaw Frank Miller is arriving on the high noon train. As the minutes tick away, Kane is forced to decide whether to walk away or stand and fight, while his marriage to Amy Fowler is pushed to breaking point.

Anchored by Billy Crudup and Denise Gough, and supported by a standout cast including Billy Howle and Rosa Salazar, High Noon in London has got the critics talking, but is it a hit or a miss?

High Noon Critic Reviews

"Crudup and Denise Gough lead a tense adaptation that turns the film into a debate play whose McCarthy-era roots resonate powerfully today" - The Guardian

"Crudup, star of TV's The Morning Show, delivers a more ambivalent version of an unassuming man who is trying to do his duty... his performance adding heft to the debut play from the Oscar-winning screenwriter Eric Roth (Forrest Gump)." - The Times

"The script here is the work of venerable screenwriter Eric Roth (Killers of the Flower Moon, Forrest Gump), and his best moments sing. As Amy, Gough beautifully punctures Kane's obsession with his gun" - The Independent

"Billy Crudup asserts a wholesome charisma as the upright, heroic lawman... Denise Gough brings extra layers of regret and sorrow to Kane's bride Amy" - The Standard

"It's an impressive show in a lot of ways. Thea Sharrock's direction deftly conjures a dusty desert town... It's theatrical, too, in the sense that the cast sing a lot more Bruce Springsteen songs than they did in the film, and an ever-present clock implacably ticks down to the title time. " - TimeOut
