The show was entertaining in moments, but structurally it just didn’t hold together. It felt like someone had scooped up their favourite moments from all five Hitchhiker’s Guide books, shaken them in a bag, and emptied the results onto the stages in no particular order. A handful of extra character cameos seemed dropped in purely as fan service rather than serving the story. The frustrating part is that they could easily have focused on the first book alone within the same runtime and budget. That would’ve given both long-time fans and complete newcomers something coherent to follow. The cast gave solid performances, but the overall experience ended up feeling muddled and underwhelming
