The Turn of the Screw is reimagined for the stage in a brand-new adaptation by Olivier Award-winning playwright Morgan Lloyd Malcolm. Menace seems to haunt every corner of Bly House, the new home of a young governess charged with looking after the manor’s two orphaned children - wards of an unseen and uncaring guardian. As chilling tension grows, the governess must face up to the ominous spirits before she becomes one herself. Directed by Nicky Allpress, this world premiere production comes to Arcola Theatre in an evocative new staging.
Based on The Turn of the Screw, James’ 1898 novella, this chilling masterpiece of psychological suspense was the inspiration behind The Woman in Black
