Penned by and starring everybody's favourite Essex girl Denise van Outen, "Some Girl" is a musical play about a successful media darling whose life is turned upside down by a simple poke on Facebook by an old flame. After a wildly popular and critically acclaimed UK tour, this collaboration with Terry Ronald features Denise putting her considerable singing talents on display, with top club tunes from the 80s and 90s including Culture Club and Soft Cell.
Stephanie has it all. A soaring media career, wealth and a husband to die for. So when a seemingly innocuous poke on Facebook sends her into a frenzy of reminiscing about lost love, candy floss and kisses, she's faced with temptation. Should she risk everything she has worked for to rekindle this old flame, or consign him to the dustbin of history?
Denise's experience on stage has seen her star in various musicals including Chicago where her portrayal of Roxie Hart won her critical acclaim. Her cover renditions of songs by Soft Cell and Culture Club was the toast of The Times, who said, "It is Van Outen's inserted cover versions of torch songs by Soft Cell, Culture Club and others that really shine out, delivered with soft, mellifluous breathiness but gaining reverberative strength".Seen Some Girl I Used To Know?
