Why see Close To You: Bacharach Reimagined?

THE HIT SHOW COMES TO THE CRITERION THEATRE

Burt Bacharach is seeing a revival in London's West End, with this new production from the Menier Chocolate Factory transferring to the Criterion Theatre for a limited season. Broadway star Kyle Riabko leads a talented cast in this exploration of Bacharach's music and his songbook. Featuring a selection of 30 of his best-loved tunes including I Say A Little Prayer, Alfie, Walk On By and The Look of Love. Olivier Award winning director Steven Hoggett helms this celebration of this extraordinary songbook.

A brilliant way to cross the generational gap, this show introduces fans old and new to the delights of Bacharach's music. The show first premiered to critical acclaim at New York Theatre Workshop, where it originated two hit shows, Once and Rent, and became the longest running show in the NYTW's history.

However I found it totally Mezmarising from start to finish, the way they have recrafted the music and songs has added an extra and modern appeal in parts and others make you realise the words and meaning, without doubt a talented cast with some glorious moments of singing and guitar playing by Kyle Riabko and a stunning and emotional solo by Anastacia McCleskey of Don't Make Me Over. I was certainly not disappointed and have not stopped singing all the way home. ... Read more
