The Dominion Theatre has the ultimately creeptastic treat in store for horror fans and film score afficianados. Scare yourself silly with a special screening of Alfred Hitchcock's seminal horror movie, complete with a live orchestra playing Bernard Herrmann's infamous score LIVE in the pits to really raise the tension (and your heart-rate.
Watch in mounting terror as Janet Leigh's anti-heroine Marion Crane finds herself in a shadowy motel whilst on the run with her boss' money, welcomed in by the oddball proprietor Norman Bates. According to Bates, she is the sole occupier in the motel apart from his infirm mother - but all is not as it seems.
Would you believe that the score nearly did not make it into the final cut of the movie? Director Hitchcock was adamant that he did not want music played over the shocking shower scene. Luckily for us, the film's composer ignored that request and came back with a pared down, nagging strings composition that Hitchcock later admitted made the scene work. We promise you that you will think twice before enjoying a shower again! Which is unfortunate really, as you'll probably need one after watching this.
