Facing East: The Musical Concert

Facing East: The Musical Concert at Lyric Theatre

Why see Facing East: The Musical Concert?

A WORLD PREMIERE concert STAGING OF the NEW musical

This month, a special musical concert based on Carol Lynn's stirring play about the gay community plays one night only at the Lyric Theatre. The story focuses around a devout Mormon couple whose gay son has taken his own life. When they meet his partner however they come to terms with a reality that they have long ignored, and reconcile feelings with their long-held religious beliefs.

With music by David Rigano and book/lyrics by Mark-Eugene Garcia, the full musical has workshopped twice in Chicago and Dallas, and is set to be staged in Vancouver next year, so get your first world premiere taste of the songs you can expect!

The event will be hosted by Harriet Thorpe, and will feature Rebecca Lock, Alasdair Harvey, Peter DiCesare and Michael Vinsen in the singing roles, all in aid of LGBT charities Stonewall and Pride in London. Following the announcement, producer Nathan Gardner said, "We've always wanted it to be the show that gives back, and it's a privilege to be able to support these two organisations that do so much for the LGBT community."
