We're Going On A Bear Hunt

We're Going On A Bear Hunt at Lyric Theatre

Why see We're Going On A Bear Hunt?

We're going to see A Bear Hunt!

Michael Rosen's cherished children's story returns to the West End in this sensational stage adaptation! Follow a family as they splash through a rushing river, climb over tall grass and wade through thick mud on a journey to find a very furry, very big treasure! Going On A Bear Hunt is a theatre event perfect for primary school kids, with lots of audience and singing along.

The production uses basic props and effects to bring the wild terrain our character's encounter to life (almost literally in some cases!) and a catchy score created by Benji Bower. Kids aged three to seven years old will just love getting involved in the hunt right from their seats, and helping the characters ensure they can identity the bear when they find him! Even critic's have praised this lively and vivid stage production by director Sally Cookson, with one calling it the "perfect mini-adventure for the summer holidays".

What is A Bear Hunt about?

Dad and kids decide to go an adventure one day... but not just any ordinary adventure, they're going to travel across the land to the dark, scary caves to find a bear! Are you brave enough to go with them? They might just need your help!

"We're going on a bear hunt,
We're going to catch a big one,
What a beautiful day,
We're not scared!"

Loved, loved,loved it!

It was a wonderful performance and one that everyone should enjoy. All of the children in the audience seemed to be genuinely engaged and enjoying it immensely. I would definitely go see it again!!!!! The cast in the 11 am Sept. 6 performance was exceptional! It was so enjoyable to see my granddaughter's face light up as she watched! ... Read more

Fantastic

Imaginative, funny and seriously energetic. Enthusiastic cast, and kids get squirted with water when the family splash through the river, 'snowed on' with foam when they have to make their way through the snowstorm - and what about when they have to squelch through the mud...?! All gets quite messy up there on stage. We (took my daughters aged 3 & 4) liked it a lot and recommended it to all. ... Read more

Fun day out / Lots of laughs

Caught the show with a friend and our toddlers, who laughed, clapped, sang along and really enjoyed themselves. Very engaging and interactive throughout the show. The only disappointment was to inform my daughter that the bear had to go home for lunch, cause she really wanted more. Thought the sets and props creative, but really not the focus of our attention. ... Read more
