Twilight Song at Park Theatre

Why see Twilight Song?

Kevin Elyot's final play receives its world premiere

Kevin Elyot’s Twilight Song makes its long-awaited world premiere this summer, as part of Park Theatre's 2017/18 season. Directed by Anthony Banks, Elyot's final stage work succeeds his hugely popular and acclaimed comedy drama My Night With Reg, which won the Olivier Award for Best Comedy in 1995 and the Evening Standard Award for Best Comedy the previous year. It's most recent Donmar Warehouse revival in the West End in 2015 won huge accolades, and served as a timely reminder of the importance of AIDS awareness.

Twilight is another bittersweet yet funny tale tracing a series of secret liaisons throughout one family over the course of 50 years, following fathers, sons and lives that were only just half-lived and tolerated. The secrets are about to crack in the summer of 1967, with a young up and coming couple preparing to take their elderly, yet adventurous relative out for dinner. With secrets about to spill amidst the turbulent sexual revolution, be prepared to laugh, cry and be as shocked as those on stage!
