With the added attraction of jazz artist Jamie Cullum's original compositions to cover scene changes, this RSC production seems tailor-made for a West End transfer.

Kara Tointon (Pygmalion; Mr. Selfridge) stars in Laura Wade's reimagining of the W Somerset Maugham classic The Constant Wife, hitting the road courtesy of the Royal Shakespeare Company! With original music by jazz musician Jamie Cullum, the play is a joyfully funny new take on the story, with Wade and director Tamara Harvey collaborating once again following their Olivier Award-winner Home, I'm Darling.
Constance is a wife who, confronted with her husband's infidelities and dalliance with her best friend, accepts her lot... as long as she can do it her own way, outside of the rules and expectations of society. A social comedy of marital maneuvers in 1920s upper-class London society, The Constant Wife is a story of a woman finding new, subversive ways to deal with an extramarital affair, no matter the social constraints!
