The Dresser

The Dresser receives its pre-West End staging
Why see The Dresser?
The Pre-West End run!
Before hitting the West End this October, Ken Stott and Reece Shearsmith star as 'Sir' and his dresser Norman in the Richmond Theatre's staging of a highly anticipated revival. Ronald Harwood's The Dresser is an affectionate portrait of an aging talent, the last of the great Shakespearean stage actors and his faithful assistant.
Set during World War Two, we follow 'Sir' and Norman to a provincial theatre where 'Sir' must deliver his famed turn as Lear. As the show and its star begin to crumble, it's up to Norman to rouse another incredible performance out of his troubled boss, as the two finally confront the nature of their co-dependent relationship. A warming and poignant love letter to a lost age of theatre and its characters, The Dresser is highlight recommended for fans of British theatre and the nostalgia of that forgotten era.
