A New Frankenstein

What would Mary Shelley make of the world we live in today? Acclaimed writer and director Jeff James (Persuasion, Shooting Hedda Gabler) brings Frankenstein into the 21st century in a bold new adaptation at The Rose Theatre Kingston. But as science continues to push boundaries, are we already living in the future Shelley imagined, or are even darker days ahead?

What Is The Story Of Frankenstein?

Published by Shelley in 1818, the novel follows Doctor Frankenstein, who, after the loss of his mother, is determined to make death a thing of the past by creating an immortal, 'perfect being'. Once the creation is brought to life, however, Doctor Frankenstein realises too late the terrible mistake he's made, as the monster escapes and plots revenge on the one who brought him into this world.

I ca understand why some would find fault with the script but i thought it was thought provoking and poetic. This is one of the best shows i have seen. ... Read more
