Enter the surreal new world created by two-time Olivier Award-winning choreographer Kim Brandstrup and filmmakers the Quay Brothers, a partnership that tells a vivid story through breathtaking dance and stunning visuals. Based on the Spanish Golden Age drama by Pedro Calderon, Life is a Dream blurs the line between illusion and reality whilst exploring themes of alienation, revenge, love and redemption.

Brought to life by the world renowned Rambert dance ensemble, accompanied by a symphony orchestra playing the music of Polish composer Witold Lutoslawski, the dramatic dance piece takes place in one room, across three different time periods. Across time and simultaneously the room contains a woman who is held against her will, a boy who is glued to his computer screen and a theatre company who's just discovered Calderon's poignant play. Their parallel stories unfold in a dreamlike world not far from out own.
