Mother Courage and Her Children
Brechts uncompromising masterpiece Mother Courage
Brechts uncompromising masterpiece Mother Courage
For the first time ever, one of the most extraordinary works of twentieth century theatre, Bertolt Brecht's Mother Courage and her Children, plays at the Globe Theatre. The Globe's artistic director Michelle Terry (Macbeth, A Midsummer Night's Dream) plays the titular role in a production directed by Elle White (Hamlet, A Midsummer Night's Dream) taken from Anna Jordan (Succession)'s translation, and featuring music by James Maloney. An uncompromising masterpiece, don't miss its run at the Globe this season.
In the heat of war, Mother Courage pulls her cart across the battlefields, doing whatever she can to keep herself and her children surviving another day. As human greed strips resources to the bare minimum for those left, she's learnt to profiteer from the war and the desolation left in its wake... but it's a war that may destroy her children, one by one.
Please note: The producers can't guarantee the appearance of any performers on any specific date.
