Quietly

A rare quality of stillness....gripping.

Why see Quietly?
Owen McCafferty's taut, emotionally charged drama is more than merely a meet and reconciliation play. Truth and forgiveness are often the hardest to reconcile with each other, and nowhere more so than modern-day Belfast.
Winner of three awards in 2013, including the prestigious Writers' Guild Award, Quietly brings to the foreground a story of prejudice, blame, violence and forgiveness, but at the cost of intolerance to an innocent third party.
WHAT IS THE PLAY ABOUT?
Two middle-aged men meet face to face for the first time in a quiet Belfast pub, decades after a terrorist bombing when they were both teenagers. Both have a history of violence, but what happened that day was caused by one of them, at great cost to the other. Will the two men, watched on by the curious Polish bartender, able to listen to each other and forgive? Or will history repeat itself in a circle of violence as their personal prejudices and shared intolerance for their foreign-born audience come to light?
