Olivier Winner Tracie Bennett Stars In New Hollywood-Set Play At Southwark Playhouse Elephant This Autumn!

Olivier Award winner Tracie Bennett (Hairspray) stars in this new play by Michael McKeever, coming to the Southwark Playhouse Elephant this Autumn! Directed by Tony Award nominee Christopher Renshaw, The Code is a thrilling exploration of the cutthroat world of classic Hollywood. Don't miss this razor-sharp new play by Michael McKeever.

What Is The Story?

Hollywood, 1950. Magnetic - and ferocious - screen icon Tallulah Bankhead stops by for a cocktail with fading star Billy Haines. As Billy contemplates departure from the town that made him, the evening changes course as hotshot agent Henry Willson arrives - along with his young and ambitious new project, Chad Manford. How will these four navigate the delicate balance of power? The Code takes a sharp look at identity in Hollywood and how performance has become a necessity not only on the screen, but in every aspect of your life.
